ABOUT ME

Putting My Experience to Work

Michelle Goodwin-Calwile brings a wealth of experience from her distinguished career as an educator in Greenville County Schools. Her roles have spanned from Family Literacy Teacher to Parent Educator and Title I Facilitator, showcasing her dedication to fostering learning and community engagement.

Beyond her professional roles, Michelle's commitment to service shines through her volunteer work in schools and community centers. She mentors teen students weekly, exemplifying her passion for guiding and empowering young minds.

Michelle's involvement extends to various school boards, including SIC and PTSA Boards in Area 25. She's an active member of the Carolina High School Alumni Association and participates in several esteemed organizations, including Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., National Council of Negro Women (NCNW), and Democratic Women, among others.

 

With a Bachelor's degree in fashion merchandising from Winthrop University and advanced degrees from Converse College and Furman University, Michelle is a lifelong learner dedicated to educational excellence. Currently, she serves as the Teen Center Director at the Pleasant Valley Connection Center.

Outside of her professional endeavors, Michelle cherishes her family, including her two grown children, Myai Alexandria Calwile and Asia Fuller Cleveland, and her beloved mother, Malenda Lake Goodwin.
